Community Based Tourism
The project program comprises four main activity clusters:
1. Principles and Best Practices
The research on the principles and best practices related with community based tourism with local youth. This research will also include the identification of important local assets that could be valorised for a tourism related product in each of the local communities that the partners are going to focus their activities on.
2. Skills and Competencies
The enhancement of skills and competencies of youth workers in the field of community based tourism and youth entrepreneurship within the framework of three international exchanges in Italy, Mexico and Philippines.
3. Development of Innovative Community Based Tourism
The development of innovative community based tourism offers at local level with active involvement of youth, many with few opportunities and/or hit or threatened by unemployment caused by disaster events and by the loss of local tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
4. Creation of Networks
The creation of networks and information for entrepreneurial training, business plan development and community based social entrepreneurship. It will include the development of material for an e-Learning course offered for youth and a new platform with contacts of entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship tutors.
Fundamental Values
The project will develop youth employability through youth work and foster creativity & entrepreneurial spirit among young people. A major focus of the project is to encourage community based tourism as a means to increase youth employment and to create benefits for the local community, especially for those suffering a disaster event. The activities will underpin the EU’s 2020 strategy by contributing to a sustainable and inclusive growth in the EU. The project will also actively promote the internationalization of youth work through sharing of good practice and cross-border networking even after completion of the project.

First Transnational Meeting of DisArTY Project in Italy!
Youth Workers and Staff Members from Italy, Greece, Mexico and Philippines for 5 days worked all together on the issues of Community Based Tourism, the post-disaster strategies and youth initiative in the amazing venue of Vesuvian Inn.

2nd Transnational Meeting of DisArTY Project in Mexico!
Youth Workers and Staff Members from México, Italy, Greece and Philippines met in order to discuss the topic of Community Based Tourism, the strategies aimed at restoring areas affected by disaster and the development of youth led initiatives.
The DisArTY Project is co-funded by EACEA in the framework of the action “capacity building in the field of youth”.
